Mumbai(July 5, 2017): Salman Khan’s Tubelight was touted to be one of the biggest hits of 2017. With a hit combination of Kabir Khan and Salman Khan, Tubelight was expected to break a few records at the box office.
But unlike his previous films, Tubelight failed to weave any magic. The film not only got a thumbs down from critics, but from Bhai fans too.
When Salman’s film cross the Rs 100-crore mark within three days of their release, Tubelight failed miserably in reaching that mark in almost a week.
A distributor, on the condition of anonymity, told: “Salman’s films can collect Rs 100 crore in three days, but this time, Tubelight reached the three-figure mark after a week. Single screen owners in small cities have suffered the most, with many incurring losses of over Rs 1 crore. The total loss amounts to Rs 40-50 crore.”
