Los Angeles(July 27, 2017): A Wonder Woman sequel has been confirmed by Warner Bros, just months after the first became the most successful film of the DC Extended Universe.
Gal Gadot is returning as the feminist warrior princess in December 2019, as Warner Bros tries to emulate the box office success of the original film.
It is of little awe that the announcement comes less than two months after the first film was released.
The film arm of the comic book giant – has been struggling to compete with rival Marvel ever since Christopher Nolan bid farewell to the Dark Knight.
Wonder Woman, released one year later, made £298m ($389m) worldwide and beat its predecessor at the US box office.
Her next appearance will be in the first instalment of the Justice League, DC’s response to Marvel’s The Avengers.
The film will reunite her with Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman, as well as Game Of Thrones star Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Ezra Miller as The Flash.
