Web Desk(August 16, 2017): Qawwali’s new identity and ever glowing sunshine singer Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s 20th death anniversary is being observed today.
Singing in a magical voice of mystical poetry, Ustad Fateh is one of the best renowned Qawwals of Pakistan.
Qawwal and folk singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was born in the house of prominent Qawwal Fateh Ali Khan in Faisalabad, 1948.
The first introduction of Nusrat Fateh was revealed from his family members while ‘Haq Ali Mola Ali’ and ‘Dam Mast Qalandar Mast’ gave Ustad Fateh Ali Khan popularity.
He has to be known across Pakistan including worldwide due to his mystical words.
His first masterpiece created on international level released in 1995 was ‘Dead Man Walking’.
After which he also compiled music of another Hollywood film ‘The Last Temptation of Christ’.
Apart from Hollywood, Nusrat also received appreciation in Bollywood too.
The government of Pakistan bestowed Pride of Performance on the legendary singer in 1987 for his contribution to Pakistani music.
He was also given honored with the prestigious UNESCO Music Prize whereas he was nominated for Grammy Awards in 1997.
Besides Nusrat’s name was included in the list of Asian Heroes in 2006 by International Journal of Time Magazines.
He demonstrated his capabilities in numerous countries. The patriotic singer had sung his last career national song ‘Mera Iman Pakistan’.
The great singer and musician passed away at the age of 48 on August 16th , 1997.
