New York(September 14, 2017): The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the UN Security Council have urged Myanmar authorities to end violence against Rohingya Muslims.
Guterres has termed the situation in Myanmar’s western state of Rakhine as an example of ethnic cleansing.
He said that one-third of the Rohingya population has been compelled to flee the country.
Meanwhile the fifteen member Security Council met behind closed doors and has publicly condemn the prevailing situation in Myanmar.
