Abducted Ex Sec Education Abdullah Jan Returned Home

Quetta (July 26, 2017): The secretary Higher Education Balochistan Abdullah Jan has returned home safely. He was missing for four months.

According to the details, Balochistan’s higher education secretary, Abdullah Jan, who was abducted from Quetta four months ago returned home Wednesday evening.

According to Abdullah Jan’s son, his father was released and reached home safely today.

“My father used motorcycle and other means of transport to reach home,” his son Atteeq Jan told media adding that he was kept in a room for four months.

Lauding Chief Minister Balochistan efforts, he said that he played vital role in his father’s release.

On May 23, Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti had claimed that efforts were being made for the recovery of Abdullah Jan.

Home minister also claimed that security agencies got vital clue regarding kidnapping of secretary higher education Abdullah Jan and ” We are trying all out efforts for his safe recovery.”Quetta: Secretary Higher education abductedIt is pertinent to say that some unknown armed men had kidnapped Balochistan Higher Education Secretary from Wahdat Colony, Quetta, on March 15 this year.

Police said Abdullah Jan had left his house to his way office at Civil Secretariat when he was kidnapped.

Unidentified gunmen had picked the official up from Quetta’s Sabzal Road area at gunpoint when he was on his way to work.

He was kidnapped when the 6th national census was underway throughout the country and a large number of government employees, including those from the education department, were participating in the process.

It is not yet apparent whether the official was recovered by security forces in an operation, or set free after payment of ransom. He was abducted on March 15, 2017.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Abdul Razzaq Cheema, Home Secretary Akbar Harifal and other high-level government officials visited Jan’s residence upon his return.

No group claimed the responsibility for his abduction.
