Islamabad (August 29, 2017): The scathing letter former Abdul Basit to another senior diplomat Aizaz Chaudhry echoed in National assembly as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has submitted the adjournment motion in NA in this connection.
PTI’s vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has submitted the motion in NA secretariat over the issue of gaffe between two senior diplomats.
The motion pertained that parliament should take up the issue of scathing letter between two senior officials of foreign ministry by halting routine proceedings.
Dr Shireen Mazari, Munaza Hassan, Col Amirullah Marwat and Dr Imran Khattak signed the motion.
Earlier a searing letter allegedly written by former ambassador to India Abdul Basit, to Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry has been surfaced in which he termed him the worst ambassador he had seen in his life.
Abdul Basit mentioned the former lambasted the latter’s tenure as foreign secretary apparently over a number of foreign policy blunders made during Chaudhry’s time in the office.
“The more I think the more I am convinced that you have been the worst Foreign Secretary ever,” Basit wrote in the letter, a copy of which has been circulating on social media.
