British High Commissioner Thomas Drew Visits Swat

Islamabad: (May 27, 2017): British High Commissioner Thomas Drew visited Swat and valley surroundings today. After the visit, he said that he was delighted to see the beauty of the region and the lush green mountains.

Talking to Abb Takk, he expressed the deep feelings about the area and said that he is more inspired with the Government efforts to bring peace in the area after the ten years long Taliban insurgency.

He could not stop him from making a nice comment on his official twitter account saying, “First visit to Swat – & first by a Brit High Commissioner since Taliban insurgency in 2007. Lovely to see this beautiful area back on the up.”

In a photo he puts on twitter, shows off his tourist mood, with blue shirt and jogging trousers. Such a casual style shows a diplomat enjoying the beauty of the location. It also manifests the serene greenery and return of hospitable culture of locals for the tourists.

Swat is home to a very rich culture of musicians and rich valley of fruits. Even tourism of local Pakistan floods there in summer.
