Cars Sales in Pakistan Increase By 46 Percent in October

Karachi (November 14, 2017): Car sales in October 2017 was highest ever recorded in the history of the country where consumers picked the favorites from all the variants of the models showing a growth of 46 percent compared with October 2016.

According to the numbers released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association the auto sales including cars and LCVs clocked at 23341 units, compared with 15,988 units sold in October, reflecting an impressive growth of 46 percent.

Car sales during the four months of the fiscal year i.e. July to October 2017 showed an increase of 32 percent to 83,810 units compared with 63633 units of the same period preceding year.Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) spearheaded auto sales increase during the month, with volumes depicting 53 percent to 13714 units in October 2017 compared with October 2016.

Wagon-R volumes jumped by 141 percent during the month to a record high of 3,478 units compared to nine months average monthly volumes of 1,766 in 2017. Mehran sales followed suit, with highest-ever monthly sales of 4,355 units, up 41 percent.All other variants of the company depicted double-digit growth during the month. Honda Atlas Cars (HCAR) recorded 50 percent growth during the month, which was mainly due to BR-V sales of 1,091 units (introduced in Apr-17), while Civic and City combined sales also grew by 14% percent.Indus Motor Company (INDU) also witnessed double-digit growth during the month, with unit sales up 28 percent in Oct-2017. While Corolla sales rose 7 percent, growth was led by Fortuner and Hilux sales.
