Islamabad (July 5, 2017): Chairman, National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Qamar Zaman Chaudhry on Wednesday appeared before the joint investigation team (JIT) probing offshore holdings of Sharif family.
Earlier, chairman of the country’s top anti-graft body reached Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) to appear before the JIT, which has issued summon to him yesterday.
Sources said that Chaudhry has also brought documents along with him.
The meeting of JIT is underway at FJA, as the team earlier inn the day recorded statement of Maryam Nawaz Shairf for the first time.
The team is questioning the NAB chairman about the Hudaibia Papers Mill reference and other cases against Sharif family.
Sources said that the JIT has started preparing its report which will be presented in the Supreme Court on July 10. The three-member special implantation bench of the apex court will decide the fate of the Prime Minister following the submission of the JIT report.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister’s daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif appeared before the JIT which questioned her for about two hours.
Talking to media after appearing before the team, Maryam said that the JIT had nothing against the Shairf family. She said that it was for first JIT which is searching for charges against those it is investigating.
