Lahore (June 29, 2017): Chief Justice Lahore High Court Syed Mansoor Ali Shah has taken the sou motu notice of the torture on Member National Assembly (MNA)Jamshed Dasti, who was seen apparently breaking down and calling for help through the grills of police van.
The chief Justice LHC taking the notice summoned the report from the concern officials of the anti-terrorism court regarding the torture and inhuman conduct with Jamshed Dasti.
In a disturbing video broadcast Thursday, Dasti could be seen apparently breaking down and pleading for help through the grilled windows of a prison vehicle.
The seemingly agitated Dasti claimed that he had been severely beaten by police and deprived of food for six days, and that rats and scorpions were often released into his jail cell as a means of torturing him.
Talking to media after appearing before the session judge, Dasti claimed that police subjected him to inhuman and worst torture. He added that he was being targeted as political revenge.
Dasti said that his life was in danger during custody. He appealed to the CJP to take notice of the excesses meted out to him.
He revealed that he had not eaten anything for the last six day. He added that even his cancer patient sister and ailing mother were not being allowed to meet him.
He added that police was deliberately letting loose mice in his barrack.
