D I Khan: Pinenut Forest Fire Continues Raging After 18 Hours

Dera Ismail Khan (September 21, 2017): The fire that engulfed in pinenut forest in semi-tribal Koh Suleman area here has intensified with flames visible from far away.

The local sources said that tens of millions worth of pinenut (chilghoza) were destroyed by the inferno raging out of control still for over 18 hours in the absence of firefighting and rescue teams and any help from political administration.

The local residents demanded the government and relevant authorities to extinguish the raging fire which has caused tens of millions losses and burning down of the pinenut trees.

The fire that has burnt down the pinenut forest is said to be started by careless throwing of a burning cigarette butt.
