‘Kingsman’ Tops Box Office With $39 Million Debut

Los Angeles (September 26, 2017): Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which is a sequel of the runaway 2015 hit from 20th Century Fox, led the North American box office in its weekend debut, fending off a challenge from Warner Bros.’ latest “Lego” movie.

“Kingsman” raked in $39 million in U.S. and Canadian theaters, researcher ComScore Inc. estimated in an emailed statement Monday. “The Lego Ninjago Movie” placed third with a lower-than-expected $20.4 million, while horror feature “Friend Request” came in seventh place.

Meanwhile the star of ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Taron Edgerton has said that he would like to see Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson appear in the third installment of the franchise. While ‘Golden Circle’ hasn’t performed as well as its predecessor at the box office, 20th Century Fox is already said to be planning the final installment in the current franchise.
