Lahore: Stocking Drive by Cos Sparks Motor Fuel Crisis

Lahore (September 21, 2017): Petroleum fuel has gone short at filling stations as private petroleum companies have gone on a drive to stock the fuel after the increase in the prices of petroleum and products in the international markets.

The consumers are running from pillar to post in search of the primary motor fuel which has gone short at most of the petrol pumps of the city. There are long queues of motorists at the petrol pumps where the motor fuel is still available.

The stocking of the petroleum by private companies is feared to fuel a crisis not only here in Lahore but also elsewhere across the country.

Public transporters and general public have demanded the government to take the notice of the petroleum shortage immediately and to take quick and effective action against the private petroleum companies for precipitating the petroleum crisis by stocking the petroleum and products to mint quick overnight windfalls.

The artificial motor fuel crisis created by the private petroleum companies requires immediate attention of the relevant authorities to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply for the convenience of consumers.
