Lahore: Tribunal probing spot fixing case initiates hearing

LAHORE: The hearing of the PSL spot fixing case has begun before the three-member panel of Pakistan Cricket Board at National Cricket Academy here. The consels of Pakistan Cricket Board Salman Naseer and Taffazul Rizvi as well as suspended player Sharjeel Khan are present.

The tribunal is headed by Justice (r) Asghar Haider with former chairman PCB Tauqeer Zia and Waseem Bari as members.

The PCB formed the tribunal after Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Lateef denied the charges.

If the suspended cricketers accept the charges they would have to face the penalties of PCB’s Disciplinary Committee.

Today PCB would press the charges and will also submit the proofs to be answered by the suspended players who are allowed to have lawyers. They would be given time to rebut the charges with the consultations of their lawyers.

If the tribunal finds the players guilty they would have to face penalties. Sources say that it would take a month for the tribunal to decide the case.
