Karachi (June 16, 2017): Sindh Law and Prisons Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has said the government has taken strict action over escape of two dangerous prisoners from Central Jail Karachi.
Talking to media at Sindh Assembly, the minister said that he has taken strict action over the issue which was evident.

He added that central jail was a safe and high security area but the inmates escaped in the garb of going to ATC court.
He added that legal action would be taken those behind the prisoners escape. He said that he had already constituted a committee headed by DIG CTD Sanaullah Abbasi.
The committee had been given the mandate to investigate the escape and took action against those who were involved or facilitated the prisoners escape, the minister added.

The Prisons Minister said that people inside and outside of the prison could be involved in facilitating the escape.
Lanjar said that Judicial Complex was under construction and the prisoner escaped from the complex.
As construction work was going on at the complex due to which CCTV camera were also not working, he added.
The minister said that though the government had taken all required measures but there might have been loopholes somewhere due to which the incident happened.
It is to be mentioned here that two suspected target killers of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) languishing in the central jail had escaped from the high security prison recently.
Meanwhile, authorities launched a search operation in the jail early Friday morning. A headcount of all the prisoners was conducted while a search of their barracks resulted in the recovery drugs and other prohibited items.
