BAHAWALNAGAR: Athlete Nadia Nazeer and his five-year old son died in a road accident near Bahawalnagar.
Nadia was going to Sahiwal after attending a wedding ceremony with her husband and son when their car was hit by a speeding trailer.
The accident left Nadia and her son dead, while her husband was injured and shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Nadia, who hailed from Sahiwal, had won five bronze medals in international 400 metre sprints.
Nadia had represented Pakistan in South Asian Games and Islamic Games. Nadai was also among the participants of training camp going on for preparation for Islamic Games.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Athletic Federation, Pakistan Sports Board and President of Pakistan Olympic Association Arif Abbasi have condoled over the death of Nadia Nazeer.
