New Zealand Series: Sana Mir Refuses to join Training Camp

Lahore (September 26, 2017): Captain of national woman cricket squad Sana Mir has once again refused to join the training camp for the New Zealand series.

According to an email said to be that of Sana the captain of Pakistani woman cricket team has refused to work with the present set-up and has also refused to join the training camp for New Zealand series.

Sana has criticized the present set-up formed for the woman cricket squad in the email that she has sent to her colleagues saying that she could not work with the present set-up.

According to sources Sana will be inducted in the squad in the series against New Zealand as a player while Bismah Maroof will be replacing her as the captain of the squad.

It may be mentioned here that this is not the first time Sana Mir has lashed out at the team management. Rebutting criticism from team’s coach Sabih Azhar Sana had said on August 4 that she had “fought” to play a young bowler contrary to the allegations against her.

She had also said she did not “intend to continue” under the current circumstances. Azhar had described Mir as “self-centered, egotistical and being wrapped up in oneself” during the course of the team’s winless campaign in the 2017 Women’s World Cup in England.
