Nisar Sets Aside Speculation Regarding Absence from Rally

Islamabad (August 10, 2017): Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday sets aside speculation about his absence from Nawaz Sharif’s ‘homecoming’ rally and asked when almost 99 per cent of the PML-N’s leadership was not participating in the rally, why was a fuss being created over his absence.

In a statement released by Chaudhry Nisar’s spokesperson, the former interior minister was quoted as criticizing a section of the media for “running baseless news throughout the day”.

“I never said that I will drive Nawaz Sharif’s car till Lahore, but some media houses have been running this baseless news repeadly,” he complained.Commenting news over his back pain is the reason behind his absence from rally Chaudhry Nisar further said that he himself never attributed his non-participation in the rally to health reasons or back pain.

“Media persons should verify statements before attributing them to him on national media,” The former interior minister urged.Earlier, news quoted Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan circulated in media that his back pain had kept him away from the hamecoming rally of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

According to the details, Disgruntled Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior figure Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that he has been away from the ongoing ‘homecoming’ rally of Nawaz Sharif owing to ‘back pain’.

“Mian Sahab had himself recommended me to have rest,” Nisar Ali Khan told his colleagues during the National Assembly session here.The ousted prime minister is leading a rally accompanied with the PML-N leaders as he heads towards his hometown, Lahore, via the Grand Trunk (GT) Road. However the absence of Chaudhry Nisar along with other senior party leaders has kept the rumors mill churning why his party’s most senior leadership has desisted from accompanying him on the journey.
