Oil Transporters Threaten Strike as Dialogue With OGRA Fails

Karachi (August 17, 2017): Oil Tanker Association threaten to resume strike as dialogues between the government and oil transporters failed on Wednesday.

According to the details, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and National Highway Authority decided not to accept the demands oil tanker association. Whereas the oil transports threaten to strike by August 20, if their demands were not addressed.

Oil Tanker Association President Yousaf Shahwani has said that dialogues between the government and oil transporters remained fruitless. He said that NHA refused to give oil tankers two years time to meet international standards. Shahwani said that OGRA was also reluctant to resolve the issues.

Shahwani demanded of the PM to get resolve the issue. He said they will go on strike, if their demands were not addressed by August 20.
