Opposition Demands Joint Session To Evolve National Policy

Islamabad (August 24, 2017): Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have demanded the joint session of parliament to condemn US president Donald Trump statement,  in which he alleged that Pakistan was providing safe haven for terrorists.

Opposition leader Khursheed Shah demanded the joint parliament session and said government should evolve joint policy for the protection of the national respect.

Chief of JI Sirajul Haq demanding the summon of parliament joint session said that US president Trump’s statement tantamount to war, however Pakistan will not came under his threats.US want to sabotage Pakistan’s effort to establish peace in the region,” he said.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan demanded the joint session of parliament saying US President Donald Trump has no understanding of Afghanistan and the region’s history.

“A unanimous message should be conveyed [to the US] that civilian and military leadership in the country are on same page; a joint session of the Parliament should also be summoned over US threat,” he suggested.The Us president Donald Trump alleged Pakistan has terrorists’ safe havens.

“We have been paying Pakistan billions and billions of dollars at the same time they are housing the very terrorists that we are fighting,” Trump had said in his speech on Monday night.

He demanded that Pakistan should “stop offering safe haven to agents of chaos” as he presented his policy for the 16-year-long war in Afghanistan in his first formal address as commander-in-chief.
