Panama JIT decides to summon PM’s children to Probe Money Trail

ٰIslamabad (May 24, 2017): Joint Investigation Team (JIT), formed to investigate PM and his family’s off shore companies has decided to summon PM Nawaz Sharif’s children to probe their money trail.

Sources confirmed to Abbtakk News that JIT has prepared the demand notices for PM’s children summon and will soon send to them.

Meanwhile PM’s son Hussain Nawaz expressing concerns over the credibility of two members of JIT requested the court for their replacement.

“Two members of JIT are biased and in presence of them transparent probe is not possible,” he said.

It is to be mentioned here that on Monday the JIT presented 15-day progress report before the special implementation bench of the Supreme Court. The bench had directed the team to complete the investigation within the given time-frame of 60 days.

During Monday’s hearing,  SC bench headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan heard the implementation case of Panama verdict. Wajid Zia had submitted the sealed report relating to progress in the investigation so far made by the JIT.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, will conduct a hearing on reservations raised by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son, Hussain Nawaz.

The application submitted by the premier’s son raised reservations regarding two members of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to probe Panamagate as per the apex court’s instructions.

The hearing is scheduled for May 29. The contentious members of the JIT are Bilal Rasool and Amer Aziz.

The JIT is to be headed by a senior FIA officer not below the rank of additional director general who has firsthand experience of investigating white-collar crime.

The team will consist of a NAB representative, a nominee of the SECP familiar with money laundering and white-collar crime, an SBP officer, and seasoned ISI and MI officials, to be nominated by their respective director generals.
