Peshawar: Anti-Dengue Spray Drive in Affected Areas

Peshawar (August 27, 2017): A number of spray teams are being dispatched off sent to many areas of the city here including Shadi Pir, Meena Bazaar, Ghantaghar, and Hashtnagri to fumigate the areas after the confirmation of dengue cases there.

The teams supervised by DC Peshawar the teams sent to the many areas in the old city will also comprise volunteers. Meanwhile, a house-to-house public awareness drive about Dengue virus also continues here. During the campaign leaflets would be distributed while people would also be educated about Dengue prevention methods.

A total of 110 teams comprising 440 people are taking part in the Dengue prevention campaign. Water-purification tablets and mosquito-repelling lotion are also being distributed to the residents of areas hard hit by Dengue virus.

So far Dengue virus has claimed 10 lives in Khyber Pakhtwanhwa province of which hails from Peshawar while 100 patients effected by Dengue are undergoing treatment at various hospitals. In addition to teams from Punjab various welfare organizations have also set-up camps in Dengue-effected area.
