Poor Team Performance May Lead Sana to Lose Captaincy

Lahore (July 17, 2017): : Pakistan Women Cricket Team Captain and Skipper, Sana Mir may lose her captaincy as well as her place in the team after poor team performance in the ICC Women’s World Cup in England.

According to details, PCB is considering to remove Sana Mir from captaincy, as Sana Mir failed to perform as Captain. The board is likely to take a decision next week about her future role in the team.

The national women’s team ended its disappointing World Cup campaign on Saturday when Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan.

It was their seventh constant defeat in the ICC Women World Cup event. Pakistan women’s team arrived back home early Monday.

According to media reports, the all-rounder Bismah Maroof is likely to be the next choice for the PCB to lead the national team in future.

The 25-year-old Bismah, who is Pakistan’s second-most experienced female player in ODIs after Sana, was ruled out of the Women’s World Cup due to a hand injury in Pakistan’s match against England early in the tournament. She was replaced by all-rounder Iram Javed.
