PSL spot fixing: Shahzaib Hassan charged, suspended  

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board on Friday suspended batsman Shahzaib Hasan by charging him for spot-fixing during Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The Karachi Kings’ batsman was handed a charge sheet for violating the PCB’s anti-corruption code today.

Shahzaib appeared before the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of PCB today for third time, during which he was charged. He was also suspended from all formats of the game.

With the suspension of Shahzaib, the number of players suspended for alleged involvement in spot-fixing reached to four, as Muhammad Irfan, Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan had already been suspended and charge sheeted for contacts with bookies.

It is to be mentioned here that on the directive of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has also sprang to action and sent Sharjeel Khan, Nasir Jamshed, Khalid Latif and Muhammad Irfan, summoning them for March 20 and 21 to appear before the agency.

The Minister has pledged to put those involved in spot-fixing behind the bars, saying that repeated instances of fixing by players was bringing bad name to country.
