PSX loses 800 points at start of trading session

KARACHI: Bear hit Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday as the benchmark KSE-100 index dipped by 800 point in the start of trading session.

The KSE-100 index was trading at 46,069 points. Market participants attribute the fall with the Panamagate case decision, which would be announced on April 20.

The stock market is continuing to bleed as on Tuesday KSE-100 index lost 251 points (0.53 per cent) to close at 46,874.

Experts said that the delay in the announcement of the Panamagate case verdict was taking its toll on the market.

Some other factors which have dampened investor sentiments are said to be delay in the launch of a refurbished leverage product and the over-taxed capital market.
