Islamabad (August 13, 2017): The Awami Muslim League (AML) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will stage a rally in Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi today.
Arrangements for twenty thousand audience members have been made at the city’s famous Liaquat Bagh, which has witnessed several political gatherings.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan and AML chief Sheikh Rashid will address the public at the event — arranged ahead of Pakistan’s 70th Independence Day on August 14.
The PTI has planned to hold a rally from Faizabad to Liaquat Bagh where the participants will join the public meeting.
A fireworks display to celebrate the Independence Day will begin at 12.01am sharp.
Strict security arrangements have been made at the venue, with only a single entry and exit point for the public.
The two parties had installed banners and posters on Murree Road for the public meeting but the local administration removed them within an hour saying the organisers had not obtained any permission.
On the other hand, PTI local leaders submitted an application to the district administration seeking permission to drop pamphlets in the city from a helicopter.
