Lahore (August 9, 2017): Patients seeking treatment at government hospitals in Lahore, Multan, and Faisalabad continue suffering as the strike of the Young Doctors continue across many cities of Punjab.
The strike by the young physicians has not only resulted in the closures of Out Patient Departments at the government hospitals but it has also resulted in delays of operations thereby putting the very lives of those needing surgery.
The situation has not been normalized despite the fresh induction by the Punjab Health Department.
Meanwhile, Punjab Health Department has taken action against the striking Young Doctors. After conducting an enquiry the Department has sacked Dr. Ammar Yusuf for withdrawing salaries from two hospitals simultaneously.
Dr. Ammar was deputed at the Urology department of General Hospital here in Lahore while he also received salary from Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital.
The number of sacked young doctors has now risen to 70.
