Ruet-e-Hilal Comm meet today to sight Ramzan moon

The meeting of the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will be held today for the sighting of Ramzan moon. It first day of the holy fasting month of Ramzan is expected to be the same all across the country.

Meanwhile, Mufti Shahbuddin Popalzai of Masjid Qasim Ali Peshawar has also called Ramzan moon sighting meeting today. Federal minister for Religious Affairs will be contacted in case of moon sighting proof, Mufti Shahbuddin Popalzai said.

Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Munibur Rahman will chair the meeting in Karachi. According to Meteorological Department there are strong chances of Ramzan moon being sighted in Sindh including Karachi as well as in coastal areas of Baluchistan.

According to astronomers the age of to-be-sighted moon should be 26 hours while it will be 36 hours by this evening. The longest fast will be on June 22.
