Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, Bahrain Cut Ties With Qatar

Riyadh  (June 5, 2017): Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain severed their ties with Qatar accusing the wealthy Gulf Arab state of supporting terrorism.

Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain announced the closure of transport ties with Qatar and gave Qatari visitors and residents two weeks to leave their countries.

Saudi Arabia accused Qatar of backing militant groups and spreading their violent ideology, in an apparent reference to its influential state-owned satellite channel al Jazeera.

Saudi Arabia has expelled Qatar out of Saudi Alliance and has also severed diplomatic relations with it. Saudi Arabia has also sealed its border with Qatar.

Meanwhile, both Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have order Qatari nationals to leave the countries within 14 days.

The Saudi decision has come in almost instantly after Bahrain said today that it had cut diplomatic relations with Qatar, over what it said  Qatar’s backing terrorism and interfering in Bahrain’s internal affairs.

A brief statement on the official Bahrain news agency said Bahrain, a close ally of Saudi Arabia, was also cutting air and sea contact with Qatar and was giving its citizens in Qatar 14 days to leave.
