Islamabad (September 14, 2017) : Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah said that he has contacted Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf over the appointment issue of new chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Talking to media, Shah said that they wanted such a chairman of the anti-graft body, who has nothing to do with politics.

He added that they would give their name for the top slot of the anti-graft body to the government soon.Shah added that the incumbent NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry was controversial since day one.
Shah said that he met Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for the appointment of the chairman NAB, adding that he did not present any grievances before the premier.The incumbent NAB chairman retires in the third week of October, who had been appointed after consultation between the premier and the opposition leader, as per the law.
“We will give the government the name for the new NAB chairman as soon as possible,” said Shah.The new chairman should have a clean past and must be dedicated to eradicating corruption, said the opposition leader.
