PTI senior leader Shah Mehmood Quereshi said, in his address, that Balochistan was enriched with mineral but continuously usurped their rights by the rulers.

He highlighting the adversities faced by the people of Balochistan said that weak and lack of planning caused the death of water in the province while unemployment also created unrest among the youths.

He said the recent meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Indian tycoon Sajjan Jindal in Murree influenced the International Court of Justice (ICJ) decision on convicted spy Kulbhushan Jadhav.

Qureshi said the decision on Kulbushan Jadhav was not done in The Hague (the headquarter of ICJ), but rather the hilltops of Murree.

Jindal had on April 26 made a short and unexpected visit to Sharif’s residence in Murree. The visit raised speculations as it was mired in secrecy with claims that Jindal had a message from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was part of back-channel diplomacy between the two nations.

Qureshi strongly criticised Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai for not fighting for the rights of Balochistan and opposing the FATA reforms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that Achakzai supported the draconian British-era Frontier Crimes Regulations in the National Assembly when it discussed FATA reforms. He said Achakzai pretends to be leaders of the Pashtuns but has instead colluded with Nawaz Sharif. He called on Achakzai to resign if he cannot fight for the rights of the Pashtuns.

He said that Balochistan has been blessed with resources but is still mired in abject poverty which is the result of seven decades of injustices. He vowed that the PTI will fight for the rights of Balochistan.

Qureshi said people of Balochistan were politically conscious and will make the right choice. Therefore, it was necessary for support PTI chairman Imran Khan in the next general elections.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf held its first public meeting in Quetta since 2012.

Strict security arrangements were made in Quetta with large number of police and paramilitary troops patrolling the streets of Quetta.
