Sri Lanka Formally Announce to Play in Pakistan

Dubai (October 16, 2017): At last in much awaited announcement Sri Lankan team has announced to play third and final T20 encounter in Lahore, Pakistan, on October 29.

Announcing the formal decision the Sri Lanka’s team management has said that team will play third T20 on October 29 at Qadhafi Stadium, Lahore.

 Earlier, Sri Lanka Board assured Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) to send its Team to Lahore for final T20.  However, a  formal announcement will be made later, after deliberation on players’ reservations in Executive Committee meeting today.

Beside Sri Lankan Board chief Samathi Pala also gave assurance to PCB chief Najam Sethi for playing third T20 on October 29 in Lahore. The assurance came up during an ICC meeting in Auckland, but Sri Lankan cricketers have written a letter to the Board regarding their concerns about Pakistan, for which SLC  executive committee meeting being held.

Giving an interview on website, SLC Head has expressed believe that he would send best team to Pakistan while players appealed to change the venue. “We understand their reservations but final decision will be made by the board”.  The ICC also announced to send their officials for T20 match.

A cricket magazine  reported that Sri Lanka left-handed batsman Upul Tharanga has said no to playing the third T20I against Pakistan in Lahore.

According to the sports website, only three players — including Thisara Perera who recently played Pakistan for World XI — have said yes to playing the match at the Gaddafi Stadium.
