Sukkur: CM Sindh Orders to Start Cardiac Hospital Urgently

Sukkur (September 18, 2017): Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah has ordered urgent activation of a 300-bed Coronary and Cardiac Care hospital established by the provincial government in Sukkur.

According to a handout issued here Monday, the chief minister accompanied by the Sindh Health Minister Dr Sikandar Mahendero visited different government health facilities set up in recent past by the government at the third largest city in the province.

The facilities were said to include Sukkur SIUT, Sukkur Cancer Hospital and coronary and cardiac care centre.

The chief minister on the occasion said that all needed measures must be expedited for ready availability of surgeons, physicians and auxiliary staff at the coronary and cardiac care centre.

Emphasizing that funds have already been arranged for procurement of needed equipment for the facility, the CM said that he will not accept any delay in turning the centre functional.

He said that providing needed assistance to the public at their doorstep was among PPP government’s priorities and series of steps were being taken to ensure that people inflicted with serious ailments may be attended at places not very far away from their homes. He assured that if needed, the number of beds at the centre will be increased.

The CM also urged the officials concerned of the health department to turn functional the emergency department of Sukkur SIUT as the number of kidney patients was registered to be quite high among the inhabitants of the province’s arid zone.

Syed Murad Ali Shah told the provincial health minister to personally ensure that the Sukkur Cancer Hospital was made operational in minimum possible time.

The chief minister had earlier also inaugurated the ‘faculty of pharmacy’ at Larkana Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical University.

He hoped that the faculty would help open fresh vistas of research in the field of pharmacology, and medicine, coupled with increased availability in the number of well-trained pharmacists and pharmacologists for local institutions.
