Terrorists not to be allowed to gain their lost relevance: COAS  

RAWALPINDI: Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has directed concerned authorities to provide best treatment facilities to the those injured in a blast in Parachinar market.

According to ISPR, the Army Chief expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of life in the blast and condoled with the families of the victims.

 General Bajwa has categorically stated that terrorists will fail in their attempt to regain lost relevance. He directed for quick evacuation of the injured people and provision of best possible medical treatment to them.

It is to be mentioned here that at least 22 people were killed and 55 others injured when a powerful explosion hit a local market in Parachinar area of Kurram Agency.

The blast took place at Eidgah Sabzi Mandi in Parachinar.

 The bodies and the injured were shifted to Agency Headquarters Hospital. Later, the critical injured were shifted to Peshawar through Army helicopter.

A provincial government spokesman said that 15 critically injured were airlifted to Peshawar as the local hospitals lack proper treatment facilities.

The Inter-Service Public Relation said that blast was of improvised explosive device.

The local authorities said that apparently the bomb was concealed in fruits crates.

According to eyewitnesses, the blast was so powerful that it was heard across the city. Soon after the blast, Army and FC’s quick response units’ personnel rushed to the site and cordoned off it.

Local MNA Sajid Turi said the bomb was planted in the fruits crates.
