Peshawar (May 15, 2017): Former President and PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said that PPP has the view that FATA should merge in KPK therefore we have decided to establish PPP secretariat there.

Addressing to the notable of FATA, Grand Jirga, he said that PPP had approved the FATA act first and now everyone is doing politics on it.

The former president asked people not to pin hope on the government. I know since the first day that the government is incapable. I did not campaign in the 2013 elections, but now me, Bilawal and Assefa will run election drive.

While pledging to construct Hydel Dam in Swat and other projects in FATA, Zardari said he still remember each and every promise Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had made with the people of tribal areas. We want to see FATA’s own high court and the Supreme Court registry.

Speaking about the CPEC project, Zardari said it was planned for FATA and not for Islamabad. He vowed to bring reforms in tribal areas after coming into power.

“PPP provided identification to Pukhtoons and taking one step forward, we have strong supporter of FATA merger in KPK,” he said adding that he ready to hold convention in FATA without any fear.

“I want to see a son of peasant as minister in my cabinet” adding that PPP wanted to constitute high court in FATA.

Stressing party workers, he said that you must come put with waving PPP flag he would allot tickets after consulting workers in FATA with the aim that PPP would form next government.

Zardari asserted that ‘show’ run by Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif is over . He said that PPP cannot witness people of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) enslaved by a governor.

On Sunday addressing the workers in Peshawar, former president announced that he has taken a principal decision that FATA would be merged with KP, and rights will be given to FATA’s youth and women ─ “the same rights that are given to women in other provinces”.

“If we are given the opportunity we will give them their rights,” he added.

He further said that Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan and India were good and there was peace, when he was in power.

He said that the rulers have a misunderstanding that they would be able to form the government once again in Punjab.

He said that this time around, the rulers would not be able to steal the mandate through rigging in elections. He accused the federal government of benefitting Islamabad more by saying that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has ‘deviated’ from the provinces.
