ISLAMABAD: A devastating blast occurred at the Shia mosque, Qasr-e-Khadijatul Kubra, in Islamabad during Friday prayers.
According to police sources, the attacker was stopped at the gate and detonated himself, claiming the lives of at least 12 individuals and leaving many others injured.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the blast. He ordered the health minister to personally supervise the treatment of the injured and ensure they receive the best medical care. He also directed that those responsible be identified and brought to justice.
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The prime minister ordered a full investigation into the incident and directed that the perpetrators be identified immediately.
