Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has agreed to Tajik President Imam Ali Rehmanov to enhance cooperation in the field of trade, energy and communication.
The two leaders of states called on each other with their delegations before inauguration ceremony of CASA-1000 in Dushanbe.
The premier Nawaz Sharif reached Tajikistan early morning on Wednesday where he met the Tajik President in presidential palace.
The PM said that Tajikistan among the countries that is the nearest to Pakistan border wise and flight service has been started between the two countries adding that the mutual business volume will soon surpass 500 million dollar and Tajikistan could benefit from China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as much as it can.
Nawaz Sharif also paid visit to Sufi saint Syed Ali Hamdani mausoleum in Kulob city of Tajikistan. The PM will attend energy project CASA-1000 inauguration ceremony in Dushanbe on Thursday. Pakistan will get 1000 mw electricity from the project, while, Afghanistan will obtain 300 mw.
