Pakistan and World Bank have inked four agreements through which the Bank will provide as many as 650 million dollars for education, health, providence of drinking water, to deal with natural calamities.
The agreement signing ceremony was held in Islamabad. Secretary economic affairs Tariq Bajwa, representatives from all four provinces, World Bank’s country director Patchamuthu Illangovan inked the agreements.
As per the first accord, the World Bank will provide 200 million dollars to improve resources of drinking water in Baluchistan.
According to second agreement Punjab will be provided 300 million dollars in field of education especially to bring improvement in teacher’s performance.
Sindh province to get 100 million rupees from the World Bank to dealt with national calamity of drought and floods while provincial administration performance will be improved in dealing with the national calamities.
Through fourth agreement as many as 50 million dollars will be given to the country for vaccination program.
On the occasion, the finance minister thanked the World Bank while the country director of the bank appreciated the country’s three years economic reforms and stability.
