The first day of Ramadan 2024 would be observed on March 11 (Monday) , However, a final decision about the start of the holy month will be taken by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after moon sighting.
In the holy month of Ramadan the Utility Stores Corporation has announced the Ramadan relief Package 2024 worth Rs. 7.49 billion as the holy month draws closer.
The announcement comes after the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved the package to facilitate people in the month of fasting.
Utility Stores spokesperson said that targeted subsidy will be given on 19 basic commodities, under the relief package, flour, sugar, ghee, cooking oil, rice, pulses, dates, milk, basin, drinks and other items will be provided at discounted prices.
Officials said that families registered with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) are eligible for the targeted subsidy to be offered under the relief package. They said that special discounted rates will also be offered to common customers during the holy month of Ramzan
