Conspiracies being hatched against PM Nawaz: Zehri

Quetta (July 17, 2017): Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri on Monday alleged that the report by the Panama case Joint Investigation Team (JIT) is “against the facts” and termed it a conspiracy against the prime minister.

Speaking at press conference, together with the province’s parliamentary parties heads, Zehri said a few elements have tried to pit institutions against each other following the JIT report.

“Prime Minister Sharif’s objections to the report are justified. It is against the facts and a conspiracy against an elected prime minister.”

“We understand that the report is based on malafide [intentions] and the fuss being made on it is beyond comprehension.”He said the government submitted its reservations over the report on the first day, noting that the head of the investigation team acquired services of his cousin’s firm in England, which Zehri said was “illegal”.

The chief minister said they support the role of political parties which have a positive and constructive approach for saving the system.

“The government’s objections cannot be overlooked.”

“Once again conspiracies are being hatched against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif; it won’t be in the country’s interest to destabilise an elected government,” said Zehri.Zehri further said that the court’s decision on the report should be awaited.

“Political forces and parties in Balochistan stand by the prime minister and it is inappropriate to conspire against and topple the incumbent government.”

“The journey of peace and prosperity in Balochistan is an outcome of the prime minister and the current government’s efforts. The premier has discharged his responsibilities in a better manner and no one should have doubts about his patriotism.”

He also criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan without naming him. “If a man raises enough of hue and cry; he is yearning to become prime minister.”
