274 Afghan Taliban fighters killed in operation Ghazab lil-Haq, says DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhary, stated on Friday that 274 personnel affiliated with the Afghan Taliban regime and “khwarij” have been killed so far in Operation Ghazab lil-Haq. He further claimed that over 400 individuals were wounded during the ongoing military campaign.

Speaking at a press conference, the military spokesperson said Pakistani armed forces destroyed 73 enemy posts and took control of 17 positions. According to what he described as conservative estimates, 115 tanks, armoured vehicles, and artillery systems were also eliminated.

Providing details of the confrontation, the DG ISPR said 12 Pakistani soldiers were martyred while defending the country’s territorial integrity. Additionally, 27 troops sustained injuries and one soldier remains missing in action.

The military spokesperson accused the Afghan Taliban regime of carrying out what he termed aggression against Pakistan, describing it as an internationally recognised terrorist organisation. He alleged that the assault was conducted in coordination with and in support of other militant groups.

Referring to the Afghan Taliban regime as a “master proxy,” the DG ISPR claimed it acted alongside militants identified as Fitna al-Khwarij. He stated that 22 locations across Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Nangarhar, Khost, and Paktika were targeted in response.

According to him, the selected sites were identified through intelligence assessments and included military installations such as headquarters at various command levels, ammunition depots, logistics facilities, and locations allegedly used to shelter militants and their facilitators. He emphasized that the targets were strictly military in nature and that efforts were made to avoid civilian casualties.
