Proteas Star Hashim Amla Considering For Kolpak Deal

Cape Town(August 17, 2017): Proteas star batsman Hashim Amla is considering for taking a Kolpak deal, for which he has to take retirement from International Cricket.

According to IOL, Amla has been approached by “various counties” over the possibility of a move, including a London club.

Earlier this week, reports linked Proteas speedster Morne Morkel to a Kolpak deal just days after he pledged his commitment to the national cause upon returning from England.

Amla, 34, and has played 107 Tests at an average of 49.00, and if he was to leave and effectively retire from international cricket, it would be a massive blow to a Proteas side that is still reeling from a disastrous tour to England.

The Proteas have lost a number of players on Kolpak deals in recent times, including Kyle Abbott, Rilee Rossouw, Stiaan van Zyl, Dane Vilas and Simon Harmer.

It would not be the first time that Amla has played in England, having already represented Essex, Nottinghamshire, Surrey and Derbyshire.
