Web Desk(August 31, 2017): Wildlife officials said a group of hunters set a new state record by bagging an alligator measuring more than 14 feet long.
The Wildlife Department , Fisheries and Parks said alligator program coordinator Ricky Flynt certified the gargantuan reptile, measuring 14 feet 3/4 inches long, broke the previous state record by half an inch.
The alligator weighed in at 766.5 pounds, had a belly girth of 69 inches and a tail girth of 43 inches.
The alligator was killed in the Southwest Alligator Hunting Zone by hunters Brian Burnside, Colby Acy, Stephen Brady and Anthony Acy.
