Peshawar (July 10, 2017): More than 3.2 billion children below five years of age will be administered polio drop in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and two Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) agencies during a three day campaign which began today.
As per details, a three days anti-polio campaign began today in twelve districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and two tribal agencies today.
More than three point two million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio drops in Peshawar, Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Batagram, Kohistan, Torghar, Shangla, Swat, Upper & Lower Dir, Chitral districts, Khyber and South Waziristan Agencies.
Some 8090 teams have been constituted for the campaign, which include 6701 mobile team and 805 fixed teams. Besides, 450 transit team and 114 roaming teams have also been constituted, which will administer polio drop to children in the targeted districts.
Meanwhile, a six-day special anti-polio campaign in nine union councils of Khairpur district started today.
Over eighteen thousand children will be vaccinated against polio.
Special security measures have been taken to ensure security of polio teams.
