3 NAB Directors Issued Show-Cause Notices For ‘Misleading Court’

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday issued National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Director Javed Ali and two other NAB directors show-cause notices in Illegal land allotment case for misleading the court with disinformation.

Sindh High Court heard on local builder and Sindh Chief Conservator Forest Sindh Ijaz Nizamani’s petition filed against NAB’s inquiry in Illegal land allotment case.

During the hearing, Sindh High Court’s Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh rejected to hear the apology of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Director Javed Ali.

Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh sent show-cause notices to three Directors of NAB including Javed Ali for ‘misleading the court with wrong statements before the court and not presenting the draft reference’.

“You lied before the court. Are you above the law?”, SHC Chief Justice stated in an agitated manner.

When apprised by the petitioner that an investigation is already underway on NAB officer Pir Khaliq who is investigating him, Justice Ijaz reprimanded the Accountability watchdog.

He slammed NAB for ‘putting such officers-in-charge of probe who themselves are under it’.

“Is there any more explanation left to be given on NAB’s procedures? Seems as if no one knows what is happening at the Bureau”, CJ maintained.

Later, the court ordered immediate directives to remove NAB officer Pir Khaliq as investigation officer in the case.
