Restrictions Imposed to Stop Demonstration in IOK

Srinagar(October 20, 2017): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have imposed restrictions in Srinagar to prevent people from staging demonstrations against increasing incidents of braid-chopping in the territory.

Call for holding of the demonstrations has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.

However, the occupation authorities have imposed restrictions in Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, Maharaj Gunj, Safa Kadal, Kralkhud, Maisuma and other areas to prevent people from staging demonstrations.

Meanwhile, the puppet authorities have placed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest while Syed Ali Gilani was already under house detention.

The action is aimed at preventing the leaders from leading the demonstrations against braid-chopping incidents. The Mirwaiz was also scheduled to address a public gathering at Charar-e-Sharif in Badgam district, today.

More than 300 incidents of braid-chopping have been reported from different parts of the occupied Valley over the last one month.
