RAWALPINDI: Pakistani security forces successfully eliminated 33 terrorists linked to the extremist group Khawarij during a thwarted infiltration operation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Balochistan, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR revealed that during the night of August 7-8, 2025, security personnel detected a sizable group of Khawarij militants suspected to be connected with the Indian-backed faction, Fitna al-Khawarij, attempting to cross into Pakistani territory near Sambaza in Zhob District. “Our forces responded swiftly and decisively, engaging the infiltrators in a precise and strategic manner,” the ISPR stated. “As a result, 33 terrorists affiliated with Indian-sponsored groups were neutralized, and a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the scene.”
The military’s media wing added that ongoing sanitization operations are underway in the area to eliminate any remaining threats posed by the militants.
Pakistan’s armed forces reaffirmed their unwavering dedication to defending national borders and eliminating Indian-supported terrorism within the region.
In a related incident earlier this year, on June 3, 2025, security forces conducted intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Balochistan, resulting in the killing of seven terrorists associated with “Fitna al-Hindustan.” During these operations in Machh and Kalat, five militants were killed in intense exchanges of fire, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat Indian-backed insurgents in the area.
