33rd anniversary of Poet Habib Jalib’s demise commemorated

LAHORE: The nation commemorated the 33rd death anniversary of legendary revolutionary poet Habib Jalib on Thursday. Born on March 24, 1928, in Hoshiarpur district of British India, Jalib captivated audiences with his straightforward yet powerful poetry.

Throughout his life, Habib Jalib’s poetry resonated deeply with the masses, reflecting themes of resistance and social justice. His notable works include collections such as Sar-e-Maqtal, Zikr Behte Khoon Ka, Gumbad-e-Bedar, and his complete poetic works (Kulyat-e-Habib Jalib).

Jalib passed away in Lahore in 1993, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations.
