Islamabad: Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Jameel Ahmed on Tuesday visited the Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) head office in Islamabad.
A 33rd joint meeting of the SBP and SECP was held in which they financial institutions consulted over the finanical stability.
The joint session of the SBP and SECP considered digital payment, access to credit information and old problems related to data.
Both the financial institutions expressed determination to continue cooperation for strong, modern and inclusive financial system.
Governor Jameel Ahmad underscored the importance of leveraging the capital markets as an alternative and sustainable source of funding for the government.
He praised SECP’s efforts in market infrastructure development.
Chairman SECP ,Akif Saeed urged the banks to focus on financial assistance of the private sector.
He said that banks should play a vital role in the development of the investment market.
