Kabul(November 13, 2017): Eight policemen were killed while nine injured as a result of a Taliban attack in western Farah province, an official said.
Police spokesman Iqbal Bahir told foreign news agency that the militants attacked a security check-post in Regi area.
The post was overrun by insurgents before the arrival of reinforcements. But the Taliban retreated after reinforcement reached the site. Eight police personnel were killed and left nine wounded.
Qari Yousaf Ahmadi, Taliban’s spokesman, claimed 13 policemen were killed and one injured. The post fell to the fighters and several weapons were captured by rebels, he added.
